The Philadelphia trio Writtenhouse has gotten support from such acts as Sean Price and the Wu-Tang Clan. With a small window of opportunity to showcase their skills to Canadians, Writtenhouse used their fifteen minutes at the Opera House for the North by Northeast festival to show off their old school, jazz vibe. Similar to The Roots, Writtenhouse’s energy transferred to the audience and a little bit of bribing couldn’t hurt.
Tossing CD’s into the crowd throughout the performance, they kept everyone interested. Writtenhouse was filled with easygoing beats that you find yourself bouncing to, to the more high energy Times Tickin’. More melodic than the majority of the acts included in their lineup, Writtenhouse returned to classic scratching.
